Magnolia turned 2

I can't believe that my little Magnolia turned 2.  It was such a fun birthday because she understood enough to want cupcakes, donuts, presents, and balloons.  She sang "Happy Birthday to Mags" all day long, loved being able to eat Jelly Beans without me saying no.
We did cupcakes with the Biesingers a few nights before her actual Birthday, which meant double candles.  The morning of she ate donuts, and loved opening all of her presents.
Grandma and Charles came that afternoon and we went to dinner at Red Robin.  Mags kept asking for a chocolate baby for her birthday, or a black skinned baby, but then when we took her to Target to get one she changed her mind and decided on Rapunzel instead.  Now she keeps saying that she wants me to have a chocolate baby...Sorry Mags, I don't think that is going to happen.

At age 2 Mags is a pretty busy little girl.  She loves to sing all day long, especially to herself in her crib.  She sings ABC's, the Wheels on the Bus, Once their was a Snowman, and New York, New York (which she learned from youtube).  She can count to 15 on her own.  She knows her colors, and shapes.  She loves the movies Beauty and the Beast and Tangled.  She can work the iPad better than anyone else in the family.  She will eat pretty much anything that I put in front of her.  And is so happy most all of the time.
I love you Magnolia, and feel so blessed to be your Mommy!

Discovery Museum

We bought season passes to this museum a few months ago, and my kids are loving it every time we go.  Last week Sawyer didn't have school, and so one day we invited Mila and went and played and picnic-ed.  Mags has been loving puzzles lately, so we probably spent a good hour working on those, while Sawyer and Mila painted the car.

Disneyland, after a 2 year break.

Mags was more than thrilled for her first visit to D-land.  She talked it up for weeks before we went, and of course thought that she was going to hug and kiss all of the characters.  That didn't happen.  But the kids sure loved the Buzz Lightyear ride, the choo choo train, and Sawyer especially loved riding all of the roller coasters for the first time.
Tyler, Kim and Benton came with us too.  It was such a great day, and Kim was quite the trooper with a baby belly!

Huish family togetherness

We spent an amazing week at my parents house with the whole family.
We dined on Las Golindrinas a few too many times.
Tyler and Kim took the kids to the beach.
We went to the great balloon park.
Played at the park.
And got to know Ali's future husband over dinner and games.
Now I can't wait for the wedding...

I heart Instagram

Instagram has changed my life...I love how easy it is to document, but some people are missing my blogging.  So these are for you!
Sorry for the repeats to my insta friends.

Diva Dash

Some of the girls in my ward had a very fun weekend in San Diego.  We ran the Diva Dash put on my Shape magazine, which was fun...although it rained the whole morning.  We did some major shopping at Ikea since we don't have one here, and then did some strategic packing to get it all into Lillie's car.  But my favorite part of the weekend was just chatting and being with these fun ladies, and not having kids interrupt our conversations.

Homec Family weekend

We had Colby, Sarah and Owen to visit in January for a long weekend.
Then Charles and Lee Ann came too.
We had so much fun letting the kids play, shopping, talking til late at night, and eating lots of yummy food.
We sure miss them!

the rest of Christmas

My favorite night of Christmas is always our family dinner at Aunt Carolyns. It always used to take place on Christmas Eve, but now we do it on the 23rd so it feels like we have two nights of Christmas Eve...I love it!
We opened poppers, and my Dad and Tyson both found 100$ bills in theirs. We ate a yummy dinner. Played Christmas Family Fued while the kids decorated gingerbread houses with Carolyn. Listened to the Polar Express and the Scriptures. Had the Men's tie exchange. And, opened presents.

Actual Christmas Eve we spend as an immediate and we always go to BJ's for dinner.
Then we all came home and opened pajamas and had a little program about Christ.

Christmas morning was wonderful for our kids. Mags favorite present was probably her baby and her walking meow-meow, as she calls it. Sawyer loved his DS from Nana and Papa. Nothing else seemed to really mater to him.

here are some of the pictures that I captured with my I phone.
It was a very fun and successful week!

Christmas with Grandma and Charles

The first night we went and saw the lights at Candy Cane Lane.
The next day Lee Ann and I took the kids to the children's discovery museum during the day. They never wanted to leave. That night we went to the living desert. The kids had a blast. It poured rain for a few minutes when we first got there, but then ended up being a great night. We rode the train, the carousel, watched a grinch performance, and saw all the lights.
The last day we went to Target so the kids could pick out a Christmas present and had lunch with Taylor and Melanie. Then we went to an adult dinner at Vicky's that night.
We always really love when they come to town. Its a fun weekend filled with lot of activities!

a little time walking around downtown and the petting zoo
Breaking Dawn and Arthur Christmas, I haven't been to the theater this much in a long time
an attempt at some black friday deals, but not worth the madness

trick or treat

Sawyer chose to be a TMNT. He has watched all my brothers old VHS tapes at my moms.
Mags wouldn't wear her cat costume. I thought I would make her into a ghost, but somehow she turned into baby Jesus. I guess we are just that spiritual.
Lillie hosted a chilli dinner for us and the Greens.
And then we walked the neighborhood. My legs were a little sore by the end of the night.
Mags LOVED trick or treating. I think she would have gone all night.
Sawyer got scared at someones house, and then it was a struggle for him the rest of the night.
I am so glad we live in such a family friendly neighborhood. I think the kids enjoyed passing out candy as much as getting it.
I really thought I was going to dress up this year, but somehow it didn't happen.
Next year for sure.
